DATES AND TIMES:
Saturday, June 9, 2001.
Start anytime between 8 am - 1 pm. Finish by 4 pm.
TRAIL RATING AND DESCRIPTION:
5K rated a 1, 10K rated a 1+. Trails are paved paths and woodland trails throughout
the park and the viewing areas for the animals.
AWARD AND FEES:
Credit Only is $2.00. This is also a "Council Approved Event" for all Girl Scouts.
A patch will be available for purchase by all scouts who do the walk. Please
call Stephanie Winters at 1-800-541-9852 for additional information by May
20th.
ELIGIBILITY:
This event is open to everyone of all ages. Children under 10 years of age must
be accompanied by an adult.
DISCLAIMER:
Although every effort will be made to make this a safe, enjoyable event, the
sponsors are not liable for accidents, injuries, thefts and other material damages.
All participants are required to register at the start area and carry a start
card. By doing so, each event participant agrees to accept the guidelines for
Volkssport events published by the American Volkssport Association (AVA) and
to observe the principles of good sportsmanship. This event will be held regardless
of weather. There will be no refunds.
DIRECTIONS:
From North or Southbound 1-5 : Take Exit #127 and go EAST on SR
512 to SR 161.
Go SOUTH (right) on SR 161 towards Eatonville. Follow Northwest Trek signs to
park entrance, approximately 22 miles from I-5.
From SR 167: Go SOUTH to SR 512 (Puyallup/Olympia). Stay on SR
512 until you reach the South Hill/Eatonville exit. Exit to your right onto
SR 161. Follow Northwest Trek signs to park entrance.
COMMENTS:
Come join the fun and a great walk. Park admission will be waived for all walkers.
Tram rides throughout the roaming area will be 1/2 price on the day of the event
for all walkers. This will be a fund raiser for Northwest Trek and all donations
and profits will be given to the park.
